Mathematics

Educators teaching a mathematics subject at St. Paul Preparatory School must indicate that courses are aligned to Common Core Mathematics standards (cited in the syllabus). Further demonstration of the use of these standards must be evident in the educator’s pacing guide and unit plans. Evaluation of these standards and their implementation in the classroom will be the responsibility of school administration.

Students must earn a minimum of six credits in Mathematics in order to graduate. Saint Paul Preparatory School outlines one possible sequence that could be fulfilled.

Math Sequence: Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus

For students entering into 9th grade from 8th grade, the above track may be followed directly. For transfers beginning 10th grade or above, the equivalent of classes must be identified and conveyed into the St. Paul Preparatory School system.

The basis of these classes may not always be clear, though there are key elements that must be in place in order to be considered for credit as outlined below. All acceptable courses must be in alignment to the Mathematics Common Core Standards.
