Bringing learning to you

Virtual Classroom Model:

We strive to provide the best learning experience in the classroom, whether it is face-to-face or virtual. In our virtual classroom, we provide students with live instruction designed to provide students with real-time feedback and a pathway to improve their skills.

Classes for our high school run at a minimum of 45 minutes. Every class begins with live direct instruction from the teacher. The teacher then selects different modules or instruction styles to use for the remainder of the class to total 45 minutes.

Direct Instruction Lecture (15 to 20 minutes)
The teacher introduces the topic for the day alongside a PowerPoint Presentation, video, or shared screen of the material being discussed or chapter of the book being covered. The teacher appears on the screen during this time when possible.
Module 1 - Guided Practice with Instructor – 10-15 minutes
Students are tasks to work with a partner or several partners through pre-planned groups on our teleconferencing platforms. The group work pertains to the topic for the day. If given a demonstration, students take their example notes for further application. Students may also be tasked with new material where the teacher is available to give guidance, but not direct instruction, as seen in normal operating classes. This can be carried out in situation where students do not require more direct feedback to accomplish the work.

The gateway to education

Learning Management System:

Saint Paul Preparatory School’s learning management system (LMS) serves as the backbone for the school. An effective learning management system will administer, document, track, report, automate, and deliver educational programs. It also allows for communication with the teacher and is a necessary component for any online school.

Within our learning management system, teachers build the digital learning environment that meets the unique challenges faced by their students. It simplifies teaching, elevates learning, and eliminates the headaches of supporting and growing traditional learning technologies. Teachers integrate additional learning products into the Learning Management System to better support student learning.

Emphasizing student and teacher communication

Interactive Online Classroom:

Saint Paul Preparatory School utilizes an online teaching platform, similar to videoconferencing software, that allows teachers and students regardless of location to come together to virtually learn in a collaborative online environment.

Students learn best when they are connected to the teacher and each other. In our online classroom, teachers are able to draw, type, and upload a variety of files onto virtual whiteboards. For students, they can interact with the material on the screen and are able to connect with each other via video.
